Announcing the 2015 Congressional Art Competition Winners

Aurora, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster announced the winners of the 2015 Congressional Art Competition, an annual contest for high school students.

"It was wonderful to see so many talented young men and women enter this year's competition," Foster said. "I look forward to seeing the winning pieces in the Capitol when I am on my way to vote and in my offices in Aurora, Joliet, and Washington, D.C."

The first place winner will receive a trip to Washington, D.C. to see their artwork displayed in the Capitol. The pieces were reviewed by a panel of local judges and displayed at Pre-Emption House at Naper Settlement in Naperville.

Best in Show: Allison by Andrea Allen of Oswego High School (pictured above)

Second Place: Night Flight by Celia Jones of West Aurora High School

Third Place: Books, Tea and Dragons by Emma Dionne of Downers Grove North High School

Fourth Place: The Aboriginals Are Here by Livija Rainyte of Downers Grove North High School and The Indian Chief by Lena Zhu of Naperville North High School

This year, Congressman Foster held an online contest on his Facebook page to determine a crowd favorite. The winner of the inaugural "Everybody's a Critic" Award was Dethrose by Claire Pikul of Downers Grove High School.
