Foster Announces 11th District Congressional Art Competition Winners

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster announced the winners of the 32nd annual Congressional Art Competition.

1st place - "Free From Captivity” by Katie Berendt, a Junior from Downers Grove North High School

2nd place - "Bright Eyes" by Mark Irion, a Senior from Naperville Central High School

3rd place - "Breaking Through" by Egle Keturakyte, a Junior at Downers Grove South High School

4th place - "Crash" by Sarah Wagner, a sophomore at Downers Grove South High School

First place winner Katie Berendt’s work will hang in the United States Capitol for the next year. Second place winner Mark Irion’s work will hang in Congressman Foster’s Washington, D.C. office and the third and fourth place winners will hang in Foster’s offices in Aurora and Joliet.

“It’s always a pleasure to see the ability and imagination of our students,” Foster said. “I congratulate all of this year’s participants for showcasing the creativity and talent we have throughout our district.”
