Aurora, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) joined Pace Suburban Bus Service Executive Director T.J. Ross and Mayor of Batavia and Member of the Pace Board of Directors Jeffery Schielke for a tour along the new Route 530, which connects the West Side of Aurora with the Naperville Metra Station. Foster boarded the bus outside of his Aurora office at 2711 E. New York Street. A map of Route 530 can be found here. Pace makes over 13,000 trips throughout the Eleventh Congressional District each week.

The tour comes after the House of Representatives passed a six-year transportation bill on November 5, 2015, which is being reconciled with its Senate counterpart. The bill must be approved by November 20, 2015, to continue funding of transportation projects.

"Accessible and easy to use public transportation is essential in our community," Foster said. "Thousands of people in the 11th District rely on public transportation like the Pace bus service to provide safe, reliable public transportation for working families."

"We appreciate Congressman Foster's support for Pace as the federal transportation bill continues to progress," said Pace Executive Director T.J. Ross. "The bill provides funding that is absolutely essential for us to not only replace older buses in our fleet but to expand the fleet to meet the growing and changing transportation needs of Chicago's suburbs."
