Foster Votes To Keep Government Open

September 30, 2015

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) voted for H.R. 719, Continuing Appropriations for FY2016. The legislation will allow for continued government funding through December 11, 2015.

"While I voted to avoid another costly government shutdown, I am disappointed that House Republicans continue to govern from crisis to crisis. This bill will only fund the government through December 11, setting us up for yet another potential shutdown at the end of the year.

"We need long-term solutions for our country, not more temporary patches. I hope that we can use the next two months to have a serious debate about our spending priorities and stop the partisan nonsense that we have seen so much of."
