The Literacy Program offers a unique opportunity for
children and parents to learn English and develop essential school-readiness
skills. A majority of the funding will
be used for direct literacy services, and a portion will be used for project
coordination and minor safety upgrades and repairs to the Preschool classroom
to a safe learning environment. By becoming literate, a major hurdle is removed from the lives of children and parents, increasing their chances for greater economic
opportunities.
