FY2010 Surface Transportation Projects

On behalf of the 14th Congressional District of Illinois, Rep. Bill Foster has made the following requests for funding in the surface transportation bill: (Note: A funding request does NOT guarantee that the project will be funded.  The projects are listed in no particular order.)
  • Rebuild and improve safety on 11th Street Bridge in Whitefalls.  Request amount: $320,000.
  • Upgrade and improve exit ramps on I-88 and Rte. 47 in Sugar Grove.  Request amount: $21,700,000.
  • Rebuild 5th Street including utility lines in Orion.  Request amount: $1,200,000.
  • Add signals and additional lanes at Rte. 64 and Oak in St. Charles.  Request amount: $422,000.
  • Rebuild and add lanes to US 20 and Allen Road intersection in Hampshire.  Request amount: $6,240,000.
  • Build bridge over UP rail line at Rte. 38 and Kesslinger Rd. in Kane County.  Request amount: $14,040,424.
  • Rebuild Annie Glidden Rd. from Bellevue to I-88 in DeKalb.  Request amount: $5,120,000.
  • Repave Barrington Rd. from Rte. 68 to Water St. in East Dundee.  Request amount $296,000.
  • Extend Beecher and Faxon Rds. to provide congestion relief from Rte. 47 and US 34 in Yorkville.  Request amount: $10,712,000.
  • Engineering study for Beecher and Faxon Rds. in Yorkville.  Request amount: $800,000.
  • Widen and resurface Bethany Rd. in DeKalb.  Request amount: $490,000.
  • Add signals and additional lanes at US 20 and Big Timber Rd. in Hampshire.  Request amount: $11,360,000.
  • Widen Bloody Gulch to four lanes in Dixon.  Request amount: $1,000,000.
  • Extend Bowes Rd. ½ mile into unused industrial park in South Elgin.  Request amount $2,400,000.
  • Rebuild Cleveland Ave., including sewage system in Carpentersville. Request amount: $4,378,400.
  • Noise mitigation materials for the CN/EJ&E Railroad Merger in Wayne.  Request amount: $160,000.
  • Construct Collins Bridge over Morgan Creek in Oswego.  Request amount: $2,400,000.
  • Rebuild and upgrade Coltonville Bridge in DeKalb County.  Request amount: $2,132,000.
  • Extend Division Street and Community Drive in Sugar Grove.  Request amount: $1,576,000.
  • Reconstruct and repave Main Street in Prophetstown.  Request amount: $850,000.
  • Reconstruct Downers Bridge over the Fox River in Aurora. Request amount: $1,260,000.
  • Rebuild and repave East Chicago Street in Elgin. Request amount: $3,360,000.
  • Rebuild and repave East State Street in Geneva. Request amount: $11,760,000.
  • Conduct study on the congestion relief along IL 64 crossing the Fox River in St. Charles. Request amount: $100,000.
  • Extend Eldamain Road to Galena Road in Kendall County.  Request amount $5,600,000.
  • Extend Eldamain Road to US 34, including the construction of a new bridge over the Fox River. Request amount $28,000,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Elm Street in Cortland. Request amount: $800,000.
  • Add lanes and improve intersection along Fabyan Parkway in Du Page County. Request amount: $11,680,000.

  • Rebuild and repave Franklin and Gifford Street area in Elgin. Request amount $5,480,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Granart Road in Big Rock. Request amount: $360,000.
  • Rebuild and regravel rural farm roads in Big Rock.  Request amount: $200,000.
  • Widen and improve intersection of Route 126 and Grove Road in Kendall County.  Request amount: $2,000,000.
  • Rebuild and add utilities to Hazard Road in Carpentersville. Request amount: $2,450,350.
  • Rebuild and repave South Hennepin Avenue in Dixon.  Request amount: $1,480,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Highland and Larkin Avenues in Elgin.  Request amount: $5,040,000.
  • Rebuild and widen Hinckley Road in Big Rock. Request amount: $432,000.
  • Rebuild, repave and widen Huntley Road in Carpentersville.  Request amount: $12,869,000.
  • Reconstruct Indian Trail Bridges over the Fox River in Aurora.  Request amount: $8,000,000.
  • Extend and Improve Knell Road in Montgomery.  Request amount:  $5,200,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Locust and Standish Streets in Elgin. Request amount:  $7,680,000.
  • Construct Longmeadow Parkway Bridge in Kane County.  Request amount:  $ 90,669,600.
  • Build overpass along Loves Road over Union Pacific rail line in Cortland.  Request amount: $3,360,000.
  • Upgrade Loves Road to handle commercial truck traffic in Cortland.  Request amount: $736,000.
  • Repave and upgrade Main Street in Batavia.  Request amount:  $1,261,120.
  • Repave streets in the City of Dixon.  Request amount:  $800,000.
  • Acquire land for future Metra station parking lot in Oswego.  Request amount:  $8,608,000.
  • Repave Mill Road in Oswego.  Request amount:  $336,000.
  • Repave and add utility and storm drains to Miller and View Aves. in Hinckley.  Request amount:  $430,800.
  • Extend and add lanes to Municipal Drive and Wheeler Rd in Sugar Grove.  Request amount:  $6,640,000.
  • Repave various streets within Village limits in Big Rock.  Request amount:  $400,000.
  • Intersection improvements at Wheeler Rd. and Rte. 47, and Municipal Dr. extension to Rte. 47 in Sugar Grove.  Request amount:  $7,520,000.
  • Rebuild and repave campus roads at Northern Illinois University.  Request amount:  $7,800,000.
  • Rebuild North Ave. from Somonauk Road to Airport Road in Cortland.  Request amount:  $2,800,000.
  • Build overpass at intersection of Ogden Road and Canadian National Rail line in Aurora.  Request amount $24,500,000.
  • Conduct routine Oil & Chip maintenance of village roads in Cambridge.  Request amount:  $56,160.
  • Plan and engineer improvements to US 30 and Orchard Road intersection, including US 30 bridge over Blackberry Creek in Montgomery.  Request amount:  $320,000.
  • Widen and improve Orchard Road from Jericho to US 30 in Kane County.  Request amount:  $12,607,156.
  • Plan and engineer a Park and Ride Facility at Railroad St. and Main St. in Montgomery.  Request amount:  $160,000.
  • Build Park and Ride facility in downtown area in Montgomery.  Request amount:  $2,611,200.
  • Plan and engineer a Park and Ride Facility at Railroad St. and Main in Montgomery. Request amount: $160,000.

  • Acquire land for a future Park and Ride facility in Yorkville. Request amount: $3,669,000.
  • Design and build a 3-tier commuter parking structure in Winfield. Request amount: $8,000,000.
  • Widen Peace Rd and improve Peace Rd. and Rte. 38 intersection in DeKalb. Request amount: $4,960,000.
  • Resurface 14 mile segment of Perry Rd. in DeKalb County. Request amount: $1,509,015.
  • Re-align East Plank Rd at Burilington Rd in Burlington. Request amount: $2,400,000.
  • Extend Woodward Dr. to Randall Rd. in St. Charles. Request amount: $1,840,000.
  • Conduct infrastructure improvements to increase access to public transit along Randall and Orchard Rds. in Kane County. Request amount: $2,000,000.
  • Rehabilitate and resurface National and St. Charles streets, Bluff City Blvd and Gifford Road in Elgin. Request amount: $9,800,000.
  • Construct extra lanes on Plank Rd and realign Lindgren, Plank and North Rd. intersection in Sycamore. Request amount: $490,000.
  • Extend Ridgeview subdivision streets in Cambridge. Request amount: $380,000.
  • Review, study and acquire land to construct a bridge for River Road over Blackberry Creek in Yorkville. Request amount: $ 1,408,000.
  • Reconstruct River St. in Dixon. Request amount: $2,760,000.
  • Repave roads throughout Aurora. Request amount: $4,000,000.
  • Build the DuPage Technology Park trail in DuPage County. Request amount: $400,000.
  • Build a roundabout at Cortland center in Cortland. Request amount: $1,680,000.
  • Build a bridge along IL 38 over railroad tracks at Kautz Rd in Dupage County. Request amount: $27,300,000.
  • Expand the northern U.S. Rte. 20, IL Rte. 47 and IL Rte. 72 intersection in Pingree Grove. Request amount: $3,252,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Sleepy Hollow Rd. in Carpentersville. Request amount: $488,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Somonauk Rd. in Cortland. Request amount: $880,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Spring St. and Ann St. in Elgin. Request amount: $3,440,000.
  • Authorize and plan construction of STAR line in Kane County. Request amount: N/A.
  • Continue construction of Stearns Rd. Bridge in Kane County. Request amount: $31,768,872.
  • Feasibility study to separate Stearns Rd. and CN/E&JE Railroad in Wayne. Request amount: $40,000.
  • Extend and upgrade Steward Road in Steward to allow for economic expansion. Request amount: $13,479,040.
  • Improve Sycamore Street in Hinckley. Request amount: $684,000.
  • Add a third level to the Third Street Parking deck in Geneva. Request amount: $3,200,000.
  • Continue the TRACC program at Argonne facility in DuPage County. Request amount: $5,000,000.
  • Repave Tulsa Ave in Carpentersville. Request amount: $392,000.
  • Upgrade the Metra Union Pacific West line. Request amount:  N/A.
  • Reconstruct Van Buren Street, Williams Place and Elgin Avenue in East Dundee. Request amount: $225,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Villa St in Elgin. Request amount: $16,000,000.
  • Rebuild Winfield Bridge in Winfield. Request amount: $256,000.
  • Rebuild and repave Winfield Rd. in Winfield.  Request amount: $656,000.
  • Study and acquire land for rebuilding Wolf Rd. in Oswego. Request amount: $9,600,000.
