Foster: Joliet area to get more than $3.2 million in early education funding

December 2, 2015

JOLIET – U.S. Rep. Bill Foster, D-Naperville, announced Wednesday that more than $3.2 million in grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services will be awarded to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet Inc. for the continuation of the organization's Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

"Making sure our children have access to learning opportunities in the years before traditional education begins should be a top priority," Foster said in a news release from his office.

The programs serve 750 families in the Joliet area.

"We are very happy and delighted that we received this second year of funding," said Kathy Fudge-White, director of Joliet Catholic Charities' Early Childhood Services Division, in the release. "We look forward to providing services on behalf of children and families who are in need of comprehensive services in Will County."
