Israel-Hamas War
I support Israel’s right to defend itself from heinous terrorism that endangers innocent civilians, but they must do so in accordance with the rules of war that democracies must strive to follow. The loss of any innocent life is heartbreaking, and we must do more to help support civilians on both sides of this conflict who’ve been hurt or displaced.
I support President Biden’s plan to secure an immediate ceasefire, the release of innocent hostages, and to lay the groundwork for the reconstruction of Gaza. This is an important step forward in the effort to achieve a lasting peace based on a durable two-state solution that protects Israel’s security as well as the freedom and self-determination of the Palestinian people.
