As a successful businessman who built a high-tech manufacturing company, I know how important it is for the government to pursue policies that help small businesses grow and create jobs in their communities.
Our small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, and I am committed to making sure small business owners have the support they need to grow. We must also pursue economic policies that prioritize the needs of small businesses, not just the biggest corporations.

Washington, DC – Tonight, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) issued the following statement:
“Today, I voted against Republicans’ plan to reduce access to Social Security, reduce funding for veterans’ health care, slash infrastructure investments, and cut nutrition and rent assistance for families who need it most. Republicans had months to negotiate with Democrats to craft a bipartisan funding bill. Instead, they chose to set the stage for massive new tax cuts for Trump, Elon, and their billionaire buddies.
I’ve just completed a coast-to-coast road trip visiting entrepreneurs in cities large and small, from California to Washington, D.C. The purpose of this trip was to hear first-hand what issues are top of mind for entrepreneurs. In this election year, America should pay attention to these issues, as young businesses create virtually all net job growth.
Since 2014, the University of St. Francis’s (USF) Business Incubator has supported economic growth in the Will County region by fostering new business development. In 2023, the USF College of Business & Health Administration successfully launched a Small Business Accelerator with a $500,000 U.S. Small Business Administration FY23 Congressional Community Project Grant supported by U.S. Congressman Bill Foster (D-Ill.) to contribute a next level of regional business support.
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) voted in favor of the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act to promote the financial security of working families, boost American competitiveness, and strengthen communities and small businesses. Specifically, this legislation will expand the Child Tax Credit and spur spending on research and development by businesses.
