Foster Announces Military Service Academy Nominees

Washington, DC – On Saturday, Congressman Bill Foster hosted a reception to announce the students he has nominated to attend the U.S. Service Academies at the Judd Kendall VFW in Naperville, Illinois.

“I am proud of the 18 students who have chosen to serve their country and attend a United States Military Academy,” said Foster. “Over the next four years these young people will not only learn the technical skills they need as a member of the armed forces, but also the leadership skills that will serve them during their time in the military and when they return to civilian life.”

The nominees include:

Cedrick Chan – Waubonsie Valley High School – United States Naval Academy

Daniel Garza – Marmion Academy – United States Military Academy and United States Naval Academy

Evan Giesler – Naperville Central High School – United States Air Force Academy

Russell Joyce – Marmion Academy – United States Naval Academy

Michael Korta – Bolingbrook High School – United States Air Force Academy

As the Congressman for Illinois’ 11th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, Foster has the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies each year.
