Foster Announces Over $3.2 million for Early Education in Joliet

December 3, 2015

Joliet, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster announced that over $3.2 million in grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services will be awarded to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet, Inc., for the continuation of the organization's Head Start and Early Head Start programs that serve 750 families in the Joliet Area.

"Making sure our children have access to learning opportunities in the years before traditional education begins should be a top priority," Foster said. "Children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start will be better prepared for kindergarten and are more likely to be successful down the road."

"We are very happy and delighted that we received this second year of funding," said Kathy Fudge-White, Director of Early Childhood Services Division, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet. "We look forward to providing services on behalf of children and families who are in need of comprehensive services in Will County."
