Foster Calls for Submissions for Congressional Art Competition
Aurora, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster called for submissions to the Congressional Art Competition from high school students living in the Eleventh Congressional District.
“The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for students to show off their talents on the national stage,” Foster said. “I hope that our young artists will take this opportunity to make their school and our community proud.”
The Congressional Art Competition is an annual contest held by the Congressional Institute and it open to student artists who reside in the Eleventh Congressional District. Students can look up their Congressional District by visiting house.gov.
The artwork will be displayed in a temporary gallery space ending with a reception where the winner and three runners-up will be announced.
The winning student will be flown to Washington, DC, to see their piece installed in the Canon Tunnel of the United States Capitol, where it will displayed for Members of Congress and thousands of tourists for the next year.
The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2016.
