Foster Hosts Community Discussion on Gun Violence Prevention

April 3, 2018

Naperville, IL - Last night, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) hosted a community forum to discuss gun violence. Over 300 people attended Community Christian Church to listen to speakers and ask questions.

"Every American deserves to go to work or school without fear of violence – that is something we all agree on," Foster said. "It was encouraging to see so many people join us to discuss how we can build safer communities for everyone. The only way we can make progress on this issue is by listening to each other and taking common sense actions to prevent senseless violence."

The panel included Dr. Karen Sheehan, an advisor with the Illinois Violent Death Reporting System; Marsha Lee from Everytown Network and a mother of a gun violence victim; Jacob Baron, a student at Naperville North High School; and Rohan Chakrabarty, a student at Metea Valley High School.
