Foster Statement on Appointment to the House Financial Services Committee
January 26, 2023
“I’m honored to be returning to the House Financial Services Committee for the 118th Congress, and I’m looking forward to getting back to work addressing the challenges facing American consumers and our financial system in this era of rapid technological change.
“I’ve been proud to serve on the Financial Services Committee from the very beginning of my time in Congress, when we worked to rescue the economy from the financial collapse and pass the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act to make sure it doesn’t happen again. We have work to do to help build a financial system that puts hardworking Americans and small businesses first – that means working to lower costs and expand economic opportunities.
“I’m committed to working with all of my colleagues on the Committee – Democratic and Republican – on areas where we can put partisanship aside and find sensible solutions and common ground, but I will take a hard stand against policies that favor the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations over American families.”
