Foster Statement on Support of Continuing Resolution Compromise
WASHINGTON, DC - I supported the three-week continuing resolution to give Republicans time to make good on their promise to debate and to hold a vote on immigration and the DREAM Act. Meanwhile, Republicans have done tremendous damage through their failure to bring even a single spending bill to the President’s desk for a signature. The unending string of Republican continuing resolutions have been a continuing disaster for our military, our health care system, and communities fighting opioid and heroin abuse. I hope that this vote is a first step towards a long-term budget that meets the needs of the American people, and I am reassured that we seem to have a path forward to find solutions to these issues.
