They rattle off the requirements of the federal government's refinancing program, but their loan isn't owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, so again they don't qualify.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster voted for legislation to end tax giveaways for companies that ship jobs overseas. Foster voted for the Democratic-backed provision which would end corporate giveaways by ending "corporate inversions," a process corporations have used to avoid paying U.S. taxes by reincorporating as a "foreign" company.

Washington, D.C. – Last night, the House of Representatives passed an amendment, proposed by Congressman Rush Holt (NJ-12) and Bill Foster (IL-11), to restore the National Undergraduate Fellowship Program (NUF) at the Department of Energy's Office of Science. The amendment to the Energy and Water Appropriations Act for 2015 was adopted by voice vote.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster cosponsored the Protect American Jobs and Exports Act of 2014, legislation to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank of the United States for seven years. If Congress fails to reauthorize the Bank by September 30th, 200,000 American jobs will be in jeopardy.

The GI Bill has been one of the most successful pieces of legislation in our country's history, growing our economy and helping veterans assimilate into civilian life. However, one glitch in the law is causing veterans to be denied the benefits they deserve.
