The same thing happened in downtown Aurora, Foster said during a walking tour in Joliet. When Waubonsee Community College and its students arrived in downtown Aurora, it made a difference.
"It led to a huge increase in foot traffic. A lot of restaurants started springing up," said Foster, D-Naperville.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster released the following statement on his vote against H.R. 1947, the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act:
“Congress needs to pass a farm bill that will provide certainty to Illinois farmers and reform outdated programs. Unfortunately, House Republican Leadership chose to include in this legislation unconscionable cuts to food assistance programs, which millions of families rely on.
The proposed cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP are tucked into the Farm Bill, now being debated. A vote is expected in the next hour or so.

Madame Speaker, today I rise to speak out against the drastic cuts proposed to the SNAP program, a lifeline that millions of Americans rely on.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster voted against H.R. 1797, a Republican bill that would overturn Roe vs. Wade and restrict a woman’s right to choose by banning all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, even if the health of the mother is at risk. Not only would H.R. 1797, drastically limit a woman’s right to choose, it would force a woman and her doctor to wait until her condition was terminal to finally act to protect her health, but by then it may be too late.
