At an event in Geneva on Thursday, U.S. Rep. Sean Casten, D-Downers Grove, slammed the Trump administration’s recently-passed federal “Big Beautiful Bill Act.” In particular, he criticized the changes it includes for SNAP, the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which provides food assistance to low-income individuals across the country.

“This bill is evil in the Biblical sense of that word,” Casten said.
