Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) and 48 freshmen Members of Congress are calling for an immediate vote in the house to extend emergency unemployment insurance. On December 28th, 1.3 million people, including over 80,000 in Illinois, lost their unemployment benefits.
Aurora, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) cosponsored the Military Retirement Restoration Act which would repeal cuts to cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) for military retirees that were included in the Bipartisan Budget Act. The repeal would be paid for by closing tax loopholes for corporations that set up headquarters in other countries to avoid paying US taxes.
