WASHINGTON, DC - I voted against the continuing resolution, because it is just another temporary patch that does not address the problems we are elected to solve. Republican leadership has had months to negotiate a bipartisan deal to finalize a budget, provide funding for CHIP, and come up with a solution to keep DREAMers in this country - all things that a vast majority of Americans support. The DREAM Act would pass today if it were brought up for a vote, but Republicans refused to negotiate with Democrats to give these young people a way to stay in the U.S.

Scientists at Fermilab were told Tuesday by Secretary of Energy Rick Perry the particle physics research facility is one of the "jewels" of the United States.

"The things that you do right here in Fermi and the ability to change people's lives in a powerful way has never been greater than it is today," Perry said in a speech at an "all-hands" event in its headquarters in Wilson Hall.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) urged the director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to retract any order that bans the use of particular words or phrases by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in budget requests. WASHINGTON, DC - I opposed the Republican Tax Plan, because it is a massive Christmas gift to large corporations and wealthy campaign donors that is paid with more than $1 trillion in new debt that our children must repay in the future. Hardworking Illinois families will be hit especially hard, a cruel blow on top of the $40 billion that Illinois already loses every year because our state pays far more in federal taxes than we receive back in federal spending.

WASHINGTON, DC - This resolution is yet another last minute stopgap measure that fails to provide solutions that hardworking Americans need from the people who represent them. We still have a long list of priorities to resolve. Congress has not voted on the DREAM Act to allow individuals who were brought to the United States through no fault of their own to stay in the country. We need to provide funding to combat the opioid and heroin crisis, and we need to stabilize health care marketplaces so that premiums do not skyrocket.

WASHINGTON, DC - I absolutely condemn sexual assault and sexual harassment. No one should have to work in a professional environment where this kind of behavior is condoned. Whether it's the disgusting and disturbing events in Alabama or the events with Senator Franken, Congressman Conyers, and President Trump, any type of this behavior is unacceptable. Anyone engaging in sexual harassment or assault must be held accountable, and I think Senator Franken and Congressman Kihuen should step down. It's clear that the U.S.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) and Congressman Mark Takano (D-CA) introduced a House resolution to designate December 3 as National 3D Printing Day. The resolution would also recognize the positive economic impact of 3D printing in the United States and encourage the promotion and celebration of 3D printing technology.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) led a letter of congratulations with 17 members of the Financial Services Committee to acting Director Leandra English at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Former Director of the CFPB Richard Cordray appointed English to the Deputy Director position last week after he announced his resignation. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act specifies that the Deputy Director becomes the acting Director in the absence of a Director confirmed by the Senate.
