Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) spoke on the House floor to recognize NASA engineer and Joliet native Dr. John Houbolt.

Houbolt, who grew up in Joliet, Illinois and attended Joliet Junior College, was a NASA engineer who played a critical role in the Apollo program. Houbolt died on April 15, 2014 at the age of 95.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster announced the deadline for the Congressional STEM Competition has been extended to Friday, May 16th.

"As a scientist and businessman, I know how important it is that we encourage students to get excited about STEM education," said Foster. "I encourage all 11th District students to tap into their creativity and enter the Congressional STEM Competition."

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) voted for H.R. 4486, the FY 2015 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act. The legislation allocates $6.6 billion, a decrease of $3.3 billion from 2014, for Military Construction programs and $64.7 billion in funding for Veterans Affairs, an increase of $1.5 billion from 2014.

Washington, DC — Today Congressman Bill Foster, Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney and 18 Members of Congress wrote the U.S. Food and Drug Administration urging them to take prompt action to recognize naloxone as a safe and effective over-the-counter (OTC) medication to reverse an opioid overdose.
