Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) released the following statement on reports that the Internal Revenue Service inappropriately targeted conservative organizations:
“No one in the United States should be unjustly targeted because of personal, religious or political beliefs. Reports that the Internal Revenue Service has unfairly targeted conservative organizations should be thoroughly investigated and any responsible parties should be held accountable.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster, with his wife Aesook, released a video to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
“This month, as we continue to come closer to finally passing commonsense immigration reform, I am proud to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and honor all of the contributions from the Asian Pacific community that have made our country so strong,” said Foster.
Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster praised President Obama’s signing of the federal disaster declaration for Illinois. The declaration covers those affected by April flooding in 11 Illinois counties including all five counties in the 11th District -- Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will. Following the announcement, Congressman Bill Foster offered help to any 11th District resident, business or community having difficulty applying for federal assistance.
Washington, DC—Today, Governor Pat Quinn requested federal assistance for 11 Illinois counties impacted by severe flooding in April. The counties listed include Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will. Following the declaration, Congressman Bill Foster requested the White House quickly approve the assistance to ensure those impacted get the resources they need.
Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) voted against H.R. 807, the Full Faith and Credit Act, better known as the “Pay China First Act.”
The legislation introduced by House Republican leadership would require the U.S. Treasury to pay the principal and interest on government debt while removing guarantees to pay any other debts or obligations. This means many government bills could go unpaid, including pay for active-duty military, Medicare payments and veterans’ benefits.
Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) voted against H.R. 1406, the Working Families Flexibility Act of 2013, a bill that would lead to a pay cut for working families by allowing employers to forgo paying overtime to workers who have put in more than 40 hours in a week.
“We should be giving working families more flexibility in the workplace, but this legislation doesn’t do it,” said Foster. “Instead of giving workers more flexibility, it would give employers the flexibility to deny workers the overtime pay they have rightfully earned.”
Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) and Congressman Randy Hultgren (IL-14) issued a joint statement honoring the life and sacrifice of Captain Brandon Cyr of the United States Air Force. Captain Cyr was killed in the Zabul province of Afghanistan when the MC-12 Liberty aircraft he was traveling in crashed on April 27, 2013. He was a former Oswego, Illinois resident and member of the 906th Air Refueling Squadron within the 375th Air Mobility Wing.

Joliet, IL— Next Tuesday, April 30th at 4 p.m. CDT, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the grand opening of his Congressional office in Joliet. Earlier this month, Congressman Foster opened an office in Aurora.
The ceremony and open house are both open to the public. RSVP is requested.
