Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) testified before the House Committee on the Budget, urging them to consider several priorities for the fiscal year 2015 budget, including:

Washington, DC – This week, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) voted to support a permanent fix to the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) in Medicare. Foster co-sponsored H.R. 4209, which includes bipartisan legislation to repeal and replace the SGR, providing a permanent fix to the SGR problem by capping the amount spent on wars overseas.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) spoke on the House floor about the H.R. 4138, the ENFORCE Act. The radical Republican legislation would enable a majority of one House of Congress to decide to sue the President, heads of federal departments and agencies, and even federal officers and employees over their execution of laws.

Washington, DC -- Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) is continuing to call for a vote to extend unemployment insurance. Since the program expired on December 28, 2013, over two million Americans, including 116,136 Illinois residents, have lost unemployment insurance. It’s estimated that this has already cost the economy $2 billion nationally and nearly $200 million in Illinois.

Washington, DC -- Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) is continuing to call on Speaker Boehner to schedule a vote to extend unemployment insurance. As of Thursday, March 6^th, over two million Americans, including 200,000 veterans, have lost their unemployment insurance because Congress has failed to vote on an extension of emergency unemployment insurance.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) spoke on the House floor about President Obama’s new initiative to build opportunity and support networks for young men of color, My Brother’s Keeper. Foster spoke about an Aurora, IL based program, Boys II Men, which has been doing this work since 2002.

Washington, DC -- Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) joined Congressional Democrats in filing a discharge petition requesting an immediate vote to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour.

"As a businessman who started a high-tech firm that provides hundreds of good manufacturing jobs in the Midwest, I know the value in paying workers a living wage," said Foster. "It doesn't just help workers struggling to support their families, it supports economic growth."
