Aurora, IL — Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) announced internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates in his Aurora, Joliet, and Washington, D.C., offices.

Aurora, IL — Today, Congressman Bill Foster announced a lottery drawing for Eleventh District residents for a limited number of tickets to see Pope Francis' address to Congress on Thursday, September 24, 2015.
The tickets will allow access to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol during Pope Francis' address, which will be simulcast outdoors to the public. Pope Francis is also scheduled to make an appearance on the steps of the U.S. Capitol after the speech.

Washington, DC— In a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) is calling on the Department of Justice to conduct a full and thorough investigation into the death of Naperville, IL, resident Sandra Bland.
U.S. Rep. Bill Foster has asked for a federal probe into the death of Naperville's Sandra Bland in a Texas jail.
In a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Foster, a Naperville Democrat, asks for a "full and thorough" investigation into a traffic stop and Bland's death in a Waller County, Texas, jail.
Parents and caregivers of people with disabilities are invited to a panel discussion exploring the transition phase from childhood to adulthood as well as supportive services available.

Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) introduced the Democratic Motion to Recommit on H.R. 1734 – Improving Coal Combustion Residuals Regulation Act of 2015.
The Motion to Recommit would amend Republican legislation intended to deregulate coal ash disposal by requiring that coal ash impoundments must be sufficient to prevent toxic levels of contamination of groundwater and to protect all sources of drinking water.
Washington, DC— Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) announced $634,009 in grant funding awarded by the United States Department of Education for Joliet Junior College and Waubonsee Community College.
"As a long-time supporter of affordable access to secondary education, I am pleased that students at Joliet Junior College and Waubonsee Community College will have access to these resources," said Foster. "The funds provided through this grant will help many disadvantaged students prepare for their careers and build better lives for themselves and their families."

Washington, DC—The White House announced a new effort to increase access to high-speed broadband for low-income families. The initiative, ConnectHome, will help to bring high-speed broadband to over 275,000 low-income households.
