WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) and Congressman French Hill (R-AR) introduced a resolution to encourage collaboration between the public and private sector to promote financial literacy for students. The resolution also emphasizes the importance of financial literacy for consumers of all ages and supports the efforts of federal agencies to expand financial education resources.

Washington, DC –  Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 2: 

“There’s no denying that we need to address the crisis at our southern border, and rank-and-file lawmakers on both sides of the aisle recognize the need and potential to pass a bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform package. However, today’s vote made it clear that Republican leadership is more interested in forcing a vote on a partisan stunt than finding real solutions to our broken immigration system.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) announced his support for 15 community projects in Illinois’ 11th Congressional District as part of the House Appropriations Committee's Community Project Funding (CPF) program. The projects listed have been submitted to the House Appropriations Committee for consideration as part of the FY2024 government spending bills.

Naperville, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) joined every member of the Illinois Congressional Delegation in sending a letter to President Biden urging the White House to grant Governor J.B. Pritzker’s request for federal assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for five counties. The letter follows tornadoes, high winds, hail, and flash floods that caused widespread damage across Boone, Crawford, DuPage, Marion, and Sangamon Counties and led to four fatalities.

Aurora, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) announced that the National Science Foundation awarded $1,449,994 to Aurora University for their Community Network Practices to Cultivate Resilient STEM Educators project. In an effort to help address the shortage of high-quality STEM teachers nationwide, this project will recruit, prepare, and support high-achieving secondary STEM education students from local institutions.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) announced the reintroduction of a bipartisan resolution in honor of Pi Day, March 14.

Pi (represented by the Greek letter π) is an irrational number representing the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle that mathematicians, architects, engineers, and scientists use in calculations. Although the decimal digits of π continue forever, the number is commonly rounded to 3.14, making March 14 the appropriate day to celebrate the number.
