Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster voted for H.R.3230, the Veterans' Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014. The legislation, which passed with strong bipartisan support, will improve care for veterans and increase accountability at VA facilities.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster voted for H.R. 5021, the Highway and Transportation Funding Act of 2014. The legislation will provide much needed funding for the Highway and Transit Trust Fund and reauthorize the Surface Transportation programs through May 31, 2015.
In case you missed it, the Chicago Tribune profiled homeowners struggling with an underwater mortgage and Congressman Bill Foster's efforts to help. In January, Foster introduced legislation to extend the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act, which would provide tax relief to underwater homeowners. Foster voted for the Democratic-backed provision which would end corporate giveaways by ending "corporate inversions," a process corporations have used to avoid paying U.S. taxes by reincorporating as a "foreign" company.

I rise today to offer an amendment to increase overall spending for Department of Energy's Office of Science.
Washington, D.C. – Last night, the House of Representatives passed an amendment, proposed by Congressman Rush Holt (NJ-12) and Bill Foster (IL-11), to restore the National Undergraduate Fellowship Program (NUF) at the Department of Energy's Office of Science. The amendment to the Energy and Water Appropriations Act for 2015 was adopted by voice vote.
