Washington, DC – Representatives Bill Foster (D-IL) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), along with Senator Dick Durbin, have reintroduced the GI Education Benefits Fairness Act, bipartisan legislation to fix a law that is causing veterans to be denied the benefits they deserve.

The GI Bill has been one of the most successful pieces of legislation in our country's history, growing our economy and helping veterans assimilate into civilian life. However, one oversight in the law is preventing some veterans from getting the benefits they have earned.

Thank you Mr. Speaker.

Today, I rise to commend the communities in my district that have rejected the Governor of Illinois' efforts to create so-called "right-to-work zones."

Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) introduced an amendment to H.R. 1806, the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act during a Committee on Science, Space, and Technology hearing.

The amendment would strike Section 106 which adds a dangerous political filter to the National Science Foundation's gold-standard merit-review process.

Washington, DC – Today, Representative Bill Foster (IL-11), along with Representatives Mike Quigley (IL-5) and Lloyd Doggett (TX-35), introduced the Autofill Act of 2015 to simplify the process of filling out Federal income tax forms, saving taxpayers time and money.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bill Foster encouraged students to submit entries to the Congressional Art Competition before the April 15, 2015 deadline.

"For years, this competition has highlighted the talent of young artists in our district," Foster said. "I look forward to seeing the artwork on display in my offices and in the tunnel of the Capitol building every time I go to vote."

Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster announced that DuPage County will be receiving a $2.7 million Hazard Mitigation Grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fund the acquisition and demolition of 13 flood prone residential properties.
