Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) introduced a House resolution to designate December 3 as National 3D Printing Day. The resolution would also recognize the positive economic impact of 3D printing in the United States and encourage the promotion and celebration of 3D printing technology.

Rep. Bill Foster (D-Ill.) will seek the House Financial Services subcommittee gavel overseeing capital markets, according to a letter obtained by POLITICO that's heading to fellow members this afternoon.

Foster isn't the first lawmaker to announce a run for the chair position that opened after Democrats selected New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney to head the House Oversight Committee following the death of Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.). California Democrat Brad Sherman announced on Nov. 22 he would run for the subcommittee chair position.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) joined U.S. Representatives Don Beyer (D-VA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-NJ), Norma J. Torres (D-CA), and Chellie Pingree (D-ME) to lead a letter demanding that the White House fire Senior Advisor to the President Stephen Miller. Over 100 Members of Congress signed the letter.

WASHINGTON, DC - Last night, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4625, the Protect GI Bill Act which included legislative language introduced by Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) and Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) earlier this year. This legislation would align definitions of an eligible child in the Veterans Administration and the Department of Defense for the purposes of the education benefit transfer.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) introduced the Well-Informed, Scientific, & Efficient (WISE) Government Act to better equip federal agencies with the scientific literature necessary to make well-informed policy decisions. This legislation will require the Government Services Administration to work with the Library of Congress, agency libraries, and government information services to identify ways to make accessing scientific literature more efficient and to identify short and long-term solutions.

U.S. Rep. Bill Foster introduced legislation that would require health care providers to give patients access to their medical records at no cost once a year if they need them.

Foster said that the Medical Records Access Fairness Act is a "commonsense" bill that removes an unreasonable financial burden for patients. He said the bill would help prevent the prohibitive cost for patients with chronic diseases or complex medical histories, according to a news release.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) introduced the Medical Records Access Fairness Act, which would require health care providers to give patients access to their medical records at no cost once per year if they need them. According to the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office, fees that doctor offices may charge patients can impose an unnecessary financial burden on patients who request them, potentially affecting patient care adversely.
