Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) introduced the Well-Informed, Scientific, & Efficient (WISE) Government Act to better equip federal agencies with the scientific literature necessary to make well-informed policy decisions. This legislation would require the Government Services Administration to work with the Library of Congress, agency libraries, and government information services to identify ways to make accessing scientific literature more efficient and to identify short and long-term solutions.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) voted in favor of the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act to promote the financial security of working families, boost American competitiveness, and strengthen communities and small businesses. Specifically, this legislation will expand the Child Tax Credit and spur spending on research and development by businesses.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) and Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) introduced the Investor Choice Act, legislation to prohibit pre-dispute mandatory (or "forced") arbitration agreements and ban prohibitions on class action lawsuits in customer contracts in certain financial sectors. Investors are often forced to agree to these terms in order to receive services from broker-dealers or investment advisors.
