"The growing delays affecting USPS customers are unacceptable and a direct result of deliberate actions by the Trump administration designed to weaken USPS. These delays are especially dangerous for people who rely on USPS for timely delivery of lifesaving medications, and they are damaging to small businesses that use USPS to deliver goods to their customers.
Washington, DC – On Friday, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) introduced a bill to designate the U.S. Post Office facility located at 303 E. Mississippi Ave. in Elwood, Illinois, as the Lawrence M. "Larry" Walsh Sr. Post Office Building.
Larry Walsh Sr. passed away this past June at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. Walsh Sr. spent decades serving the Will County community in public office, including as an Illinois state senator and as Will County executive – an office he held from 2004 until his death.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, the House unanimously adopted an amendment offered by Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) as part of the appropriations bill for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services (HHS), and Education.
The amendment eliminates a long-standing appropriations rider in the bill that prevents HHS from adopting standards related to unique health identifiers for patients. Unique patient identifiers could aid in slowing the spread of COVID-19, and prevent "doctor shopping" for opioid prescriptions, lower costs, reduce medical errors, and save lives.
