Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) spoke out against the Secret Science Reform Act on the House floor. The Secret Science Reform Act, H.R. 4012, would create unnecessary burdens for scientific research used by the EPA and create guidelines that could be misinterpreted and exclude important research.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Union School District 81 – a single school district in Joliet, Illinois – for winning an Award of Merit from the Illinois State Board of Education for outstanding improvement and effort.
Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) wrote the leadership at Amazon urging them to locate new facilities in the 11th District, which stretches from Chicago's western suburbs to two of Illinois' largest cities, Aurora and Joliet, and is comprised of parts of Will, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Cook Counties. Amazon recently announced that they will be locating new facilities in the Chicagoland area, creating at least 1,000 jobs. As they select sites for these facilities, Foster is encouraging Amazon officials to consider the 11th District.
Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) voted against H.R. 5682, to approve the Keystone XL pipeline.
"I am not opposed, in principle, to the building of the Keystone XL pipeline, and I look forward to the completion of the ordinary regulatory approval process for this project. However, I voted against this legislation because it would give the Keystone XL pipeline an unnecessary exemption from the environmental permitting processes, at a time when even the pipeline route is uncertain," said Foster.


Joliet, IL – On Wednesday, October 29 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Congressman Bill Foster's staff will hold mobile office hours at the Fountaindale Public Library in Bolingbrook, IL. All 11th District residents seeking assistance are welcome to attend.
Aurora, IL – Nearly 200 job seekers had their resumes reviewed by potential employers and 10 attendees received job offers on the sport at a hiring event in Aurora on October 17, 2014. Congressman Bill Foster and the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) hosted the hiring event for employers and job seekers in the 11th Congressional District at the Prisco Community Center.
Aurora, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster joined U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and U.S. Representatives Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Mike Quigley (D-IL), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Dan Lipinski (D-IL) in asking the Department of Transportation Inspector General to conduct an immediate investigation into the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)'s emergency protocol and mitigation measures at Chicago air traffic control facilities.
