Washington, DC – Today Congressman Bill Foster voted for the FY 15 Omnibus Appropriations bill.
"While there were some provisions in this package that I do not support, I voted for the final bill because we cannot continue to govern from crisis to crisis," said Foster. "I am pleased that this bill preserves most essential funding for scientific research and development, increases funding to combat Ebola, increases funding for the National Institutes of Health, and preserves funding for Head Start and other essential programs."
Washington, DC – Today the House passed a provision, championed by Congressman Bill Foster, that would enable Argonne National Laboratory to save millions of dollars by finally removing on-site nuclear waste.

Washington, DC -- Congressmen Bill Foster (IL-11) and Ted Deutch (FL-21) continued efforts to end the costly and inhumane practice of imposing arbitrary immigrant detention requirements by introducing an amendment to strike the detention bed mandate in the FY 15 Omnibus Appropriations Bill.
The Foster-Deutch amendment would strike language in the appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that requires Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to have at least 34,000 immigrants in detention at all times.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) and Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act for FY2015 in the House of Representatives. The bill included a provision crafted by Congressman Kinzinger and Congressman Foster which allows Will County to continue using the Prairie View Landfill through 2041.
Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Bill Foster (IL-11) voted for H.R.5771, the Tax Increase Prevention Act, a one-year extension of a number of tax relief provisions that are set to expire.

The Secret Science Reform Act, H.R. 4012, would create unnecessary burdens for scientific research used by the EPA and create guidelines that could be misinterpreted and exclude important research.
