Washington, DC—Today, Representatives Bill Foster (IL-11) and Mark Takano (CA-41) introduced a bipartisan House resolution to establish December 3rd as national 3D Printing Day.

Washington, DC – Today, Representative Bill Foster (IL-11) voted for the conference report on Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act. The act is the first long-term transportation bill passed by Congress in over a decade and will fund transportation projects for the next five years. The measure, which authorizes $281 billion in funding, will now go to the Senate for a final vote.

While Foster voted for the measure, he expressed disappointment that the final bill did not include the Foster Payer Statement Amendment that was included in the original House bill.

Joliet, IL – Today, Congressman Bill Foster announced that over $3.2 million in grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services will be awarded to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet, Inc., for the continuation of the organization's Head Start and Early Head Start programs that serve 750 families in the Joliet Area.

Mr. Speaker, we've seen an uproar over the death of Laquan McDonald, and rightfully so.

But sadly the injustice for Laquan goes much deeper.

JOLIET – U.S. Rep. Bill Foster, D-Naperville, announced Wednesday that more than $3.2 million in grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services will be awarded to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet Inc. for the continuation of the organization's Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

"Making sure our children have access to learning opportunities in the years before traditional education begins should be a top priority," Foster said in a news release from his office.

The programs serve 750 families in the Joliet area.

Washington, DC –Today, Congressman Bill Foster launched a contest to invite residents of the Illinois Eleventh Congressional District to submit a question for a live discussion with Space Station astronauts. On Wednesday, December 2nd, Foster and members of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion via a live satellite downlink from the International Space Station with NASA astronauts Scott Kelly and Kjell Lindgren. Each Member will have the opportunity to ask one question of the astronauts.

The 11th District includes part of the Aurora area.

Washington, DC—Last week, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed rules to increase transparency in dark pool trading. The proposal comes after Congressman Bill Foster and members of the New Democrat Coalition Financial Services Task Force urged the SEC to make the changes.
