By allowing existing grants to go towards free, online educational resources, this bill would expand access to the academic materials that are critical for a successful education in college and beyond. This is especially helpful for students pursuing a STEM education, who tend to face steep cost barriers for up-to-date materials.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Clinic, which overturns Roe v. Wade: the 1973 case that established a constitutionally protected right to an abortion.
More than a hundred protesters of all ages lined Washington Street in downtown Naperville on Friday after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The protest was organized by the Illinois National Organization for Women, American Association of University Women, the League of Women Voters and the National Council of Jewish Women in Illinois.
The Supreme Court on Friday overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling that established the constitutional right to abortion in the U.S. in 1973.
The decision comes more than a month after the leak of a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito indicating the court was prepared to take this momentous step.
The court's ruling means that individual states will now have the power to set their own abortion laws without concern of running afoul of Roe.

The Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act will strengthen and expand more than 30 federal programs to address widespread shortages in mental health professionals and other barriers to care.

This bill would allow families living in HUD-assisted housing, whose children qualify for free or reduced lunch, to use federal assistance on broadband internet access.
